How to take good care of your parasol

It's a great idea to have a balcony parasol to protect you from the harmful UV sun rays. For us here at Balcony Living Cph it´s important that you will be able to enjoy your product for a long time so here are a few tips on how to take the best possible care of your parasol:

  • Fold down the parasol when not in use.
  • Get a protection cover that you can place over the parasol. See our entire parasol cover selection here. Note that teh parasol should be dry before putting on the cover.
  • In case of strong wind, please take the parasol down. You can leave the lower part of the pole in the parasol bracket or base so that you only take down the upper part. In case you do this please note that the lower pole could be filled with water if rain. This can cause errosion since the inside of the pole is mostly uncoated.
  • Apply a little oil to the tilt function on a regular basis, otherwise it can become fragile.
  • Occasionally clean your parasol with a small amount of base cleaner and luke warm water. You can also treat it with textile waterproofing to prevent dirt from accumulating on the surface.

Especially parasols with a large diameter can be caught in the wind more easily. Most of our parasols with a diameter over 180cm therefore has a thicker pole and slats, but the above guide applies to both small and large parasols. Even though you have a more robust parasols precations because of weather conditions must be made.
